First make sure that the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 - Full is installed. You can determine this by following these steps:
If the framework is not installed, you can download it from the Microsoft website or locally from our HR Manage site. There are links available at http://www.peopleres.co.za/index.php/downloads.
The installation package for HR Manage 3.6 is more powerful than the one used in version 3.5. You might have one of two installations. If you've downloaded the installation from our website, it will be one executable file (e.g. HR_Implats_Setup_3_6_1_0.exe). If you are copying the installation from your local network, it might be 3 files. In case of the latter, please ensure that all three files are in the same folder before starting the installation:
HR Manage 3.6's installation packages uses an improved compression utility resulting in an installation file of approx 13mb (HR Manage 3.5 used to be almost 20mb). Once installed, HR Manage will take up approx. 50mb of space.
Now simply execute the main installation file (HR_Company_Setup_3_6_?_??.exe or HRManage.Client.Setup.exe). This must be done by an IT administrator if standard users don't have permission to install software on their computers.

On the above page, simply click Next. If HR Manage is already installed and you're installing this version over the previous one, make sure that HR Manage is not running.

On the above page, you can simply click Next. It is possible to change the path, but is usually not needed. Since HR Manage is fully compatible with both x86 and x64 mode, it will always default to the Program Files folder, regardless of the operating system.

The above page gives the user / administrator the option to enable (default) / disable automatic updates. Updates will only become available for a specific client computer once the server computer has been updated. Thus the program isn't updated as new versions are released, but rather, as the client's server is updated ensuring that the procedure is safe and all the correct versions are loaded. For more information on how this works, see the bottom of this page.
Click Next on the above page and then click Install on the confirmation page. HR Manage is now installed and can be run from the Desktop, Start Menu Programs or by clicking the "Run HR Manage now" on the Finished page of the setup wizard.
HR Manage is automatically configured so no additional steps are needed.
There will now be a "HR Manage 3.6" icon on the desktop and a "HR Manage" group under the Start Menu. You can now open HR Manage. If you get to a login screen without any errors, then HR Manage was installed and configured successfully.
If you did get an error before the login screen, then it is probably due to the connection to the server. In that case, you should check out the post "Problem with HR Manage connecting to server" under our Frequently Asked Questions section.
If you want to update HR Manage from version 3.5 already installed on the computer, you must first uninstall the previous version:
If you want to update HR Manage from version 3.6 or later (when Automatic Updates are disabled), you simply need to install the HRManage.Client.Update.exe file on the computer. The setup wizard will automatically detect where HR Manage is installed and update the files that has changed since the last installation.
If Automatic Updates are enabled, the setup wizard will modify the permissions on the HRManage.NET folder making it writable.
Once a new version is found, HR Manage will notify the user with the screen below. Since the automatic update packages are much smaller (between 1-5mb in size), it also downloads much faster. The update packages can be hosted on our HR Manage server or on your company's local server for faster access.

The above screen is an example of an update version that is available. Since the setup wizard made a change to the HRManage.NET folder during installation, any standard user can complete the automatic update. By clicking "Update Now", the updated files will download and install and HR Manage will start again immediately. All this is done automatically and requires no used interaction.
If Automatic Updates are disabled, this screen will still appear, but the "Update Now" button will be disabled and IT will have to come and install an update.

All files installed with HR Manage and subsequent updates are all stored within the HRManage.NET folder and no files gets changed anywhere else on the computer. Automatic updates are downloaded and stored in the HRManage.NET\Setup folder.
