Roadmap HR Manage is continually being developed and improved with new modules being released all the time.  For a roadmap to see what will be coming soon, click here.

If HR Manage cannot connect to the server, it is usually related to a problem that will have to be solved by your IT department.

On your computer, click on Start -> Programs -> HR Manage -> Configuration.  The fields to take note of here is the IP Address and the Port number.  If we are hosting the database, the IP Address will be "41.72.129.4".

You must first of all be able to ping the server:

  • Click on Start -> Run and type "cmd" and click Run
  • Type in "ping IP_Address"
  • Press Enter

You must receive 4 replies from the server (not "Request timed out") AND the port number must be opened on the firewall.  Once this has been sorted out by your IT department, you should be able to connect.

Error with the description "Could not load file or assembly...", is usually related to the wrong .NET Framework version being loaded.  Please ensure that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is installed.

Error with the description "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connection host has failed to respond 41.72.129.4:1981" is usually related to firewall issues.  Make sure the port number is in the exceptions list on the server's firewall as well as on the client computer.

Error with the description "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 196.220.37.166:1981" usually occurs if the "HR Manage Server Components" service is not started under Windows Services on the server.

The error "Cannot resolve the invocation to the correct method" is caused by version incompatibilities between the server and the client computer.  It usually occurs during the Login stage.  To resolve, make sure the correct HR Manage version is installed on your computer.  There might have been an upgrade and your IT department might have missed your computer during the upgrade.

The error "The server has rejected the client credentials" means that your computer is either not on the same domain as the server or you have the wrong client.config file loaded in your HRManage.NET folder.  Ask IT to provide you with a newly exported file from the server or to set up a service user account on the server.

The error "Login failed for user DOMAIN\Username" occurs when the connection between the HR Manage Server Components and SQL Server is configured with Integrated Security (using the user account of the current logged in user).  The server components must be configured to use a fixed SQL Server user account (e.g. HRManageUser or PeopleResUser).
